Ok so it's been a while since a proper update.

Last week was spent in and around Paris where we went to Disneyland, Parc Asterix and watched Merlin Season 2 being filmed! Major squee! I got pics with all the main cast except Angel (Gwen) so was very bouncy! (pics are friends only on facebook (Lis Beasley) or if people want i can put them up here in a friends only post)

Then Saturday 20th we saw [info]justakiko in For the Best, which was very very cool! Then saw Gillian Anderson and Christopher Eccleston in A Dolls House which was brilliant! It's my favourite play and I was a lil worried when I saw it had been changed but it was really really good!

Then home on Sunday where I read fic and slept.

Birthday yesterday, kinda low key. Cards from a couple of friends, family and workmates. Ticket for Bad Wolf (more on that in a moment) from the parents, umbrella and bottle on rum from work and Greys Anatomy wii game from [info]xakliaaeryn . Present from brother to come later as they forgot and no idea about my sister.

Most excitable present was Bad Wolf - I am so excited about that! 11th/12th July and I get to meet Elisabeth Sladen and Bernard Cribbins amongst others! I just need to decide what to make them sign. Am thinking I will buy season 1 of Sarah Jane for Elisabeth and get her to sign that and my season 4 boxset along with Bernard.

Other than that work is ok, couple of things in the pipeline which will be revealed later depending on what happens. Home is ok. I am actually at home for the next couple of weekends - w00t! Cinema trips are in the future me thinks

Hugs to the flist

Kinda have issues with the fact that a lot of these come under the heading 'stupid things'

Repost it with the title I've done (...) out of the 140 stupid things.

In other news I have sinusitis and an ear infection meaning I am snotty and deaf in one ear. Oh joy. Hoping my ear is better before I fly across the Atlantic at the weekend!

Hey guys!

This is a 'do me a favour' post! My friend [info]xakliaaeryn  is putting together a project around science fiction and online communities etc and would appreciate a little bit of input from as many people as possible!

It can be anything from a sci-fi related story you have written, an email detailing how you got into science fiction, your first sci-fi related memory to a video or voice recording of yourself discussing sci-fi maybe your favourite ep or how being within the 'fandom' has enriched your life, anything like that.

Preferably discussions will take place over at the community http://community.livejournal.com/scifi_fan_movie/ but if you would prefer to email ideas over directly you can do on xakliaaeryn@yahoo.com

Many thanks and hugs

1. Leave me a comment saying, 'interview me'.
2. I will respond by asking you five questions. I get to pick the questions.
3. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions. (You must do this, even if it's filtered for my eyes only!)
4. Include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions

Questions from[info]xakliaaeryn

1 - What's your favourite type of fic?

This tends to depend on my mood but it's always gotta have a happy ending else its too depressing. Fluff I can read anytime, same as romance. Though I do like romance with a bit of action in it.

2 - Do you prefer reading/writing/beta-ing?

When my muse is around I love writing but if I could only do one then it'd probably be beta reading cos then at least I could read fic whilst correcting it ;-)

3 - If you could live anywhere in the world, apart from Chicago and Australia ;-), where would you go?

Damn you, Brisbane and Chicago are my first choices obviously. It's kinda hard other than that cos I can't really say I wanna live somewhere that i've never been. I'd like to try New Zealand i guess or Japan.

4 - What's your first 'fan' memory?

My first memory of witnessing 'fan' is my dad getting really excited about a Neil Diamond concert when I was young. My first own 'fan' memory I think was possibly X Files - joining the BBC XFiles forum and reading fanfic. Before that I obsessed over Rainbow Brite and Reboot but XFiles is the first one I clearly remember.

5 - How many people have you walked in on now? ;-P

Ha. Ha. Ha. You know the answer to this.

To the rest of my flist number 5 is an in-joke - please feel free to ignore

My day has been really enjoyable and I felt the need to share.

I went to Toys R Us this morning and got mum another dwarf and me a sound effect TARDIS to go with my figure that I got from Sam and Dans.

Then when I got back I watched The X Files movie 2 (also a gift from Sam and Dans) and squee-ed over the extended edition and the gag reel. Then I watched Bad Mothers Handbook with Catherine Tate (gift from the parents) then I went to the cinema to see Inkheart (which was really good fun) and out to dinner with a friend then came back did a bit of RP before going out again to see Changeling - which was incredible!!! Angelina blew me away - she is so very talented. It also made me hate the LAPD as it was in the 1920's.

So now I am checking mail etc and watching Jurassic Park before bed.

I like days like this

Tomorrow I plan to schlomp and watch a couple of Catherine Tate films followed possibly by the x files commentary

I am sat happily with tea, a gorgeous lil book, a new christmas decoration, keyring, cow box (tee hee) and I cannot wait to try out my lil volcano! Am gonna save it for when my nephew gets here as i reckon he will get a kick out of it too

When I answer the personal questions it says it cannot reset my password online and refers me to a page that then takes me back to reset my password online.

Still coughing away but I start work on Monday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And we have our works xmas do on 19th December we are going to a really nice restaurant then on into town so I may be hungover for the train journey to Dans' for Yule hehe

Speaking of can't believe its december on monday - seriously!? when did that happen? Got my holiday days and I get xmas day, boxing day and new years day off so gotta go down to Keli's on new years eve and try to get 2nd Jan off so i dont have to rush home - might try to swap and work boxing day if i am allowed. This is odd for me as I am used to like a week/2 weeks off at xmas.

Thanks to [info]xakliaaeryn  I found out that Gillian Anderson is playing Nora in A Dolls House in London from May to July! So I am going to see it on 20th June (bday weekend) with Keli, Karoline, Dans and Sam - so very over excited about it too! Not only is it Gillian but its my fav play! I adore A Dolls House - ever since we read it at school - and I've seen 3 productions of it so far

CSI
So I've started watching CSI - have just finished season 1 but have now ashamedly skipped to season 7. The reason for this is whilst in Chicago I saw an ep which involved a killer making a miniature crime scene which had me really intrigued. So instead of waiting I have skipped to season 7 then i will go back and watch season 2 onwards.

Am still ill so watching CSI is pretty much my plan for the day

well my cough/sore throat turned into horrid stomach pain and vomiting - joy *sigh*

so am currently tucked up in bed watching bad movies - i always seem to watch bad movies when i am ill - currently i am watching Star Wars - oh no not the original trilogy the god awful recent ones

i watched GA earlier and am worried about Christina and Meredith *wibble* but love mcArmy - he's adorable

also saw the Star Trek movie trailer and, apart from baby Kirk looking like a girl, it looks good to me. But i don't really like TOS so i have no loyalty to that whatsoever

Well it all kicked off round here recently, my nephew Tom has been kicked out of home by his idiot dad so he's now living with my niece (his sister). This puts a bit more pressure on Bonnie as she already has the two kids but for now he is in the smaller room whilst the two kids are in the bigger room. My sister isnt very happy and had a slagging match with Dale when he kicked him out - gotta love my family sometimes

On a happier note I start work next wednesday! Yay! And I am starting to watch CSI! I'm really enjoying it too - tho it is tempting me to go to Chicago next year (obv when I have money fro said job) to see William Petersen in a play - I blame [info]xakliaaeryn  for it all!
